A well-paced stay leaves room for the falls themselves, a quieter river experience and weather flexibility, rather than trying to fit every advertised activity into one day.

Zimbabwe Parks describes the protected area around the falls as including rainforest sustained by spray. That makes the walk a combination of viewpoints and a distinct local environment, not simply a single panorama. The experience can vary considerably with flow and weather, and heavy spray may obscure rather than improve a photograph.

Our suggested plan is a dedicated falls visit, another block of time for a carefully selected activity, and an unhurried transfer onward. Activities on the river or around the gorge have their own operating conditions and terms.
